Scouts Elect New Leaders

Mazomanie's Boy Scout Troop 58 held its annual spring elections at their May 12 troop meeting.

Life Scout Riley Denu won the election for senior patrol leader, the troop's top youth leadership position. Denu has served previously as patrol leader, quartermaster and one prior term as senior patrol leader.

Alex Kirchman, a Life Scout, was voted to the position of assistant senior patrol leader. Kirchman served one previous term as assistant senior patrol leader and has spent several terms as a patrol leader.

Outgoing Senior Patrol Leader and Eagle Scout Matthew Schultz, was elected to the position of patrol leader. In addition to his term as senior patrol leader, Schultz served previously as a patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader.

Erich Schmidt, a Star Scout, received his first leadership position in Troop 58 when he became the troop's second patrol leader.  Schmidt previously served as an Order of the Arrow representative for Spring Green Troop 38.

The new leaders assumed their new roles immediately. The positions of patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader are six-month roles, while the senior patrol leader holds the position for one year.
